MINUTES OF EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF
BISHOP NORTON WITH ATTERBY PC
MONDAY, 15TH JUNE 2026, 7.00 pm
ST PETER’S CHURCH, BISHOP NORTON
1. Those present at the meeting were: Cllr P Thody (Chair), Cllr A Panton, Cllr J Suggit, Cllr T Dean, Cllr S Freeman, Ros Townsend(Clerk), Lucy Whiting, Michael Leak
2. Apologies for absence: Councillor T Guy,
3. Declarations of Interest: None stated
4. Applicants to give statements to councillors – Michael Leak gave a verbal statement to the parish council about why he would like to be on the Parish Council. Lucy Whiting read out her written statement about why she would like to be on the Parish Council.
5. Councillors to discuss statements in private.
6. Candidates return for proposing and seconding of Applicants applying for co-option before voting. Lucy was proposed by Cllr Panton and Cllr Thody and Michael was proposed by Cllr Freeman and Cllr Dean.
7. Voting: The Parish Council voted
8. The clerk counted the votes : Michael Leak was appointed as the new parish councillor.
9. The successful applicant signed the Declaration of Acceptance of Office (for retention in PC records) the Register of Member’s Interest form and the Receipt of Code of Conduct form(to be returned to the Electoral Services & Elections Team at WLDC).
10. The new member was welcomed and the meeting closed at 7.21pm
